ACM SIGSPATIAL 2023
Student Travel Awards
The ACM SIGSPATIAL 2023 Conference organizers want to help potential attendees by providing travel grants. The funds for the grants come from the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), conference sponsors, a generous donation from W. Randolph Franklin, and ACM SIGSPATIAL. This application will serve as the central entry point for all travel grant applications for our conference.
Selection Criteria

The applicant for the travel grants must be a student (graduate or undergraduate), an early career researcher (0-3 years since graduation) or a GISCUP participant. Applicants can be based in any country.

The travel grants will be based on three sources:

NSF Travel Grants: to qualify applicant must be a student (graduate or undergraduate) enrolled at a US University.

W. Randolph Franklin Student Travel Scholarship: to qualify applicant must be SIGSPATIAL GISCUP participant.

ACM SIGSPATIAL Travel Grants: The grants are for all applicants.

Priority will be given to student authors and early career researchers with accepted papers at ACM SIGSPATIAL 2023.

The recipients must register and attend the full conference.

The funding will be used for travel-related support only.

To apply, you only need to submit this application.
Service Requirement
Please note that we ask all grant recipients to volunteer for four hours at the registration desk sometime during the conference week. You get to pick your time slots, so you will not be forced to miss anything you want to attend.
Deadlines
- The deadline for applications is October 6th, 2023, anywhere on earth.
- Notification is due October 16th, 2023.
